Freight has two kinds of work in it. There's the service: carrying the cargo, taking responsibility for it, clearing it through customs. And there's the coordination around it: getting the details straight, running outreach, gathering and comparing what comes back, keeping documents together, watching the shipment. Reddlaw is the operating system for the second kind, and it is designed to operate alongside the providers, processes and systems that do the first.

Outreach goes out and responses come back automatically. Pricing is checked before it is presented. What gets brought forward is the strongest supported option, with what it does and doesn’t include made explicit — and it is brought forward for a person to decide on. Nothing is confirmed until someone approves it, and critical decisions remain subject to human approval throughout.

Reddlaw is designed to operate alongside the freight processes and systems a team already has, rather than to replace them.

Who operates it

The same underlying engine, configured around who is doing the work. The workflow, the interface and the controls are set up directly based on who is operating the system, which is a conversation rather than a signup form.

  • An internal freight or operations team runs Reddlaw around its own company’s freight.
  • A freight forwarder runs the same engine around customer freight, sourcing from its own private provider book rather than from anyone else’s.
  • A business with no logistics function can have Reddlaw operate the workflow for it as a managed workflow.

If you coordinate freight for customers

What a forwarder keeps, stated plainly.

  • You keep the customer relationship. Reddlaw does not sit between you and the businesses you move freight for.
  • You keep commercial control and the final decisions. The software does the coordination; the calls stay yours.
  • Your provider book stays yours. A forwarder’s book is scoped to that forwarder and is not sourced on anyone else’s freight.
  • Your operating workflow is discussed and configured directly. The public demo on this site is the shipper experience — nothing in it should be read as your finished interface, which needs different UX, controls and onboarding.

What Reddlaw is not

Stated plainly because it's commonly assumed.

Reddlaw Logistics Inc. builds and operates the coordination layer. We are not a freight forwarder, not a carrier, not a customs broker and not a payment service, and we never take possession of cargo. A forwarder using Reddlaw’s workflows doesn’t change any of that. Those aren’t modesty — they’re the terms the platform is actually built and contracted on, and you’ll find the same language in our terms.
